Initial Setup Issues

So I've been messing around with this all day and I cant seem to get it to work. I've followed every step listed on the downloads page tried both methods but still no luck. There must be something I'm missing but there isn't any good info on what it might be. Could someone provide some more detailed instructions or point me towards what it might be. I'm able to get it loaded on the Pi but then the screen goes black (I think its supposed to from what I read). My trouble comes with how in the world do I connect to it via the browser because typing in the Pi's IP didn't work nor did the links on the download page. I was able to connect to the Pi via Putty though so I'm not sure why I can't get it to work in the browser. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Re: Initial Setup Issues

Connect to Pi through putty and run commands below:
cd /home/pi/printer/
sudo ./printer

Paste output here so we could know why it does not working.

Re: Initial Setup Issues

Hi It can be a frustrating experience depending on your setup.
The best advice i can give is to try your raspi with the "NOOBS" image so you can get a better feel and understanding of the Raspi and also confirm your screen is working

The one thing i always do at initial set up with NanoDLP is set it up with an ethernet cable attached to start with Then when that's all working correctly you can configure WIFI in nano DLP.
I'm not saying that's the only way or necessarily the best way but it has worked for me on a couple of occasions.

The screen resolution and orientation can be tricky  as there isn't 1 fixed method to get this to work.
At boot up you should see the standard "linux" boot text scroll by and when NanoDLP is loaded the screen will indeed go blank ( waiting to project the first sliced image)

If you haven't already take a look at   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oz3K8ECEOf4
Also, search for NanoDLP in youtube. While a lot of videos aren't specifically for your issues i found them quite informative to the whole install and set up procedure

Good luck

This is the output from it

I've went through pretty much all the youtube videos I can find but none of them have shown the problem I'm having, they've all just skipped to the basics like whats on the website. Could you post a bit more about how you did it with an Ethernet cable, or is there already some info out there about how to do it that I haven't found yet.

Re: Initial Setup Issues

Alright I finally managed to get it working through the Ethernet cable so thank you very much for that suggestion. Haven't figured out how to get it on WiFi yet but that's something for another day.

Re: Initial Setup Issues

Hi,
I'm having some problems as well...
This is what happened today: I installed NanoDlp on RPi3, and latest  Marlin (https://github.com/mUVe3D/Marlin-mUVe1DLP-Running) on Mega with Ramps 1.4. On Marlin had to alter the motor direction (motor on top) and steps to match the screw. Also the settings for endstop (using optical). Testing from pc (Win7) with KudoTitan the motor and endstop work as they should. Connected the Mega to RPi and tried the Z control from NanoDlp: works. Tried to use default settings and do a dry run. The screen on pc shows the layers being printed but the motor is idle. I could turn the screw by hand, when it should been controlled by Ramps. Changed settings from generic to mUVe, thinking it would play better with their Marlin. Same result with NanoDlp: manual Z control (goes up and down till endstop) works, but nothing when printing.
I installed everything again, tried with and without the latest updates - still same.
Please help
