stepper engaged but no movement. help

Hi all

so wiring sorted I think. I can now engage and disengage the stepper.  BUT when I try to move the motors on the plus they pulse once, moving very slightly, on a minus move nothing.

also the mesurements on the z calibration screen move in just less than 5mm increments

then actuator settings are default except micro steps that I changed from 8 to 16 but no difference

any ideas

Re: stepper engaged but no movement. help

Try adjust speed parameters. About no movement on one direction, disable limit switch on setup page.

Re: stepper engaged but no movement. help

Hi Shahin

Ive changed the spped to 100 and to 100000 with no change. limit switch do you mean end stop as i have that disconnected and disabled

if i type g code in to the terminal nothing happens either.  using the z calibrtation page I get a short buzz and minute movement, nothing more

just in case i tried a python script on the motor and it works fine and moves ok so i know the wiring and motor are fine its something with the settings on nanodlp

All I have is the Pi3, the DR8825, and the stepper(nema17).   WHAT am I missing.

I dont want to go the ramps way this is supposed to work with just what I have.

help please

Re: stepper engaged but no movement. help

Terminal is only for RAMPS board. Are you using nanodlp in direct mode or RAMPS mode?

Re: stepper engaged but no movement. help

ah haa  I appologise  I had the direction and stepper pin the wrong way round in settings.  I have motor control  but

the end stop is reversed. With something in the endstop, its optical, the motor works up and down. with nothing in the it only goes down which is correct if the stop is triggered

I cant see an option to revearse this??

Re: stepper engaged but no movement. help

You can use not logic on electronic board to correct the behavior.

Re: stepper engaged but no movement. help

Currently board default is high and it should become low when switch triggered.
There is type of electronic component called inverter or "Not logic" to reverse high and low. Also you can change your optical limit to active low.
