hey all
so iv'e set up nano dlp
i can move the axis
but for some reason i still cant control my DLP
im using the DLP lightcrafter4500 EVM by texas instruments
i can choose in their GUI between [Video Mode] to [pattern sequeance]
and in thoes modes there is alot of preferances i need to configure
what is the recommended preferencaes of the nano dlp in the following:
mode? (video or pattern)
parallelRGB or FPD - Link?
number of bits?
pixel data format?(RGB444\YUV444\YUV422)
Clock select?(P1_CLKA/P1_CLKB/P1_CLKC)
input port data swap?(ABC -->BAC, etc....)
god bless you all

Hello Hotam,
check this out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxUSxvGSLEQ, related with the LC4500 dmd mirror orientation.

hey thanks for your reply
i sent a post to the ti community. but ill post it here also:
hello
im trying to build a DLP 3dPrinter using the DLP4500 EVM and the opensource nanoDLP host + marlin firmware(for the arduino)
when im connecting the system to my computer (HDMI+USB), i get in to video mode in the LightCrafter Gui
and i can see the projector is projecting my desktop. so far all good.
now, when im unplugging the HDMI and connect it to the RaspberryPi3, i get a blue screen that does not change
if i send something to print, the printer is moving, and i can see nanoDLP host is sending images to the projector
but the light that projects is only a blue square.
so i did some checks and configured some stuff in the RPI3 boot (config.txt)
and now when use the terminal to get some info on the video configurations of the rpi3 and what is connected to him i get the following results:
when i type: /opt/vc/bin/tvservice -m DMT
i get a list of available modes
mode 4: 640x480 @ 60Hz 4:3 clock25MHz progressive
mode 28: 1280x800 @ 60Hz 16:10, clock:83MHz progressive
and when i type: /opt/vc/bin/tvservice -s
i get my current state
state 0x120006 [DVI DMT (28) RGB full 16:10], 1280x800 @ 60.00Hz, progressive
looks good to me as far as i understand
so the projector itself is working, and i think the video config of the raspberry pi3 is fine(i think im not sure!!!)
so the last thing that can influance this is the projector configuration inside the nanoDLP HOST, i will share them here and please help me to figure out if i configured something wrong

Its kind strange, i think the output video should be configured to DSI display port.
the lc4500 is working with other hardware? did you test Internal test pattern? verify the flat cable in LC4500, did you modify the unity ? change to uv led or you buy already with uv option? its normal some "leakage" when mirror are off-state. so theres no input signal comming...
I consider you install a fresh image on rasp and only change the resolution to 1280x800 inside config.txt everything else should run out-of-the-box.
i will post today later my rasp config.txt so you could copy/paste/try

10q very much for your help
i feel really dumb, but the hdmi cable was "broken" errrr
all good now
but still i would like to see your rpi config
are you also using a dmd mirror array?

Hi Hotam,
I am having the same problem with a texas instrument projector.
Do you have any suggestion for me to try?
I can sitch on and off the light of the projector but cannot turn on or off the projector... it is very weird
Offline
Also, if I use the same code as you to turn on-off the projector I get the following error:
External Call Problem exec: '\x06\x14\x00\x04\x00\x34\x11\x01\x00\x5E': executable file not found in $PATH
Offline
You should put command on projector code box.
Offline
OK, the problem was that a space was needed before the command.
Now I get this:
Error 0 2020-12-22 12:49:39.965362 Gcode External Call Problem fork/exec : no such file or directory
Notice 0 2020-12-22 12:49:39.919087 Projector Projector on
Have you seen "External Call Problem fork/exec : no such file or directory" before and you know how to treat it?

Path to binary is not correct. Not sure what you are want to achieve and how. Share a debug file let me take a look

Is this what you are asking for? Or how I get what you need
Offline
go to setup--->tools---> debug , download and shared the debug file.
Offline

The debug file (.zip) is shared in this link.
Offline
Hi,
Any update about my problem? The .zip file on top is what you asked for right?
I really need to start using the 3D printer and this issue is taking me so long.
Offline
You do not need execute ones remove them.
Execute to Turn Projector On/Off
Other settings seems correct and no issue as I see, I suggest to try control your projector from terminal or another program then after confirm it is working move correct settings to nanodlp.
My guess based on log files is the command not detected by the projector or not terminated correctly.
Offline
What do you mean execute ones?
You suggest trying codes from terminal (Putty)? I think the problem is more about the connection than from the code.
It is something about turning hiddev0 or hidraw0 to serial USB connection.
Offline
https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu018f/dlpu … 8166452336
Here in the page 7 they explain the USB interface.
I am really disoriented because I used nanodlp with this projector with an old raspberry, but now can't make them communicate.
Projector having HID protocol and nanodlp using usb serial protocol.
I sure there is a easy solution but I cannot figure it out.
Offline
It could be a simple issue but you need to try, my suggested workflow for this issue is
1. Connect to the desktop PC then try to communicate with it and verify it is working
2. Try to communicate through some barebone terminal
3. Then move to raspberry pi. Then you would know that it was working, maybe even it is driver related and you need to do some kernel compiling (highly unlikely)
Offline
I will try with the terminal.
Have you checked the files?
Everything looks all right? Is it possible I installed nanodlp wrong?
Offline
No, it is single binary just open connection to any port you define. Also I do not see any problem on your configs.
Offline
Is it possible to get an old version of nanodlp?
It worked perfectly before with the old version (2018 more or less?), so I was thinking maybe the best option is installing the same version it was working before.
Maybe the projector is not compatible with this latest version?
Offline
Serial communication not changed since early version of nanodlp. Sure on the latest build you can downgrade to 1833 which belong to May 2018
Offline
Can you tell me in which version (and date) you changed the serial communication? Maybe I was using the old type.
Is there any way to download a version with the old type of serial communication?
Offline
It does not changed for last 4 years. Since build 1598.
Offline
And is there any way to get that build 1598? In case I found that my old setup was using that version.
Also where do I find the place to downgrade? I see how to upgrade but not downgrade.
