Has anyone attempted to get the new BOE 5.5" 4k Monochrome VS055QUB-NH1-DQP0 LCD screen to work with Nanodlp.
I think this is the LCD the Longer 4k mono is using. It has pixels 31.5um(V)*10.5um(H). I presume it has three subpixels per pixel? Is there anything that could possibly mean it won't work with Nanodlp?
I have the config file Duobond have sent me if needed.

With correct EDID any display with HDMI port with lower resolution than Raspberry Pi max config should work on it. Sometimes coming up with correct configs are difficult.

The solution for me is to use a RPi 4. The following configuration is compatible with every 4K screen I've thrown to it, no matter the make/model mono or color. They all worked. DO NOT SET "monochrome display" in NanoDLP screen config.

Do you think this might work with a RPi 3 or is it specific to the RPi 4? Is there any advantage with going with a RPi 4 with more than 1GB, other than if you were slicing on it?

Yes, I bought both the controller board and the screen. I don't have a link, I just emailed them and did everything via email.

Initially I was using a RPi3 with a 4K screen (not mono), it totally works but it's a bit slow at refreshing the screen, so you have to add more pause before/after print. With a RPi 4 everything is snappier. I don't know if the BOE 4K mono works on the rpi3, I haven't tried, but it should. You don't need much memory, I have the 4GB version.

I literally just installed it and ran 2 test prints. I'm still calibrating the resin and the UV. I'll post pictures in the coming days. The printer was originally a shuffle 2018, but I changed everything inside, so basically only the chassis is the same now.

yes the screen fits, the UV source is a paraled2 but at approximately half power.
the case needs a little dremeling to fit a RPi4
I replaced the front screen with a standard nextion.

Looks very good for a first print. I presume you sliced it in Nanodlp? Did you use anti aliasing at all?
How and why did you reduce the power of the Paraled2?
I'd be interested in seeing what prints look like at 10um.

I don't use nanodlp AA and I still have to calibrate AA on the slicer.
Paraled2 is too powerful for a mono display (they usually have low contrast)

I can only see the option in the Free Zone to export as obj and stl.

you need to add a printer (the shuffle 4k is a good start), then you create supports and slice the model. The software exports a file that is just a zip with the PNGs inside. Rename to .zip and you can print with nanodlp.

But your if you use the Shuffle 4k for example, it is a 4k screen with one sub pixel per pixel, where as your lcd is a 4k that has three sub pixels per pixel. The dimensions of the pixels are also different so surely the size and dimensions of your print will be wrong.

The Longer 4k seems to use the same lcd but it can use the subpixels as pixels to give a higher resolution (in one direction).
Using the Phrozen Shuffle 4k as an example I am able to change the x and y in mm of the screen in Pro only(which I don't have, is yours Pro?). But it won't let me change the value of width and height in pixels, and the vertical and horizontal resolution in um, it says "You can't modify this value in an official printer".
Would you mind screen shotting the printer settings page in Lychee.

I am having same issues. The configuration sent by the company only works in printer/screen startup when I turn on the printer I can see the code on lcd running. After that nanodlp is unable to display image on LCD. Maybe my nanodlp machine settings are not correct. I also tried with your config settings file and same error I get nothing gets displayed by nanodlp on LCD. Although the initial code startup I can see on LCD when I startup the printer. What are your nanodlp parameter settings ? I set to NORMAL display and not MONOCHROME. Please let me know following parameters inside the nanodlp machine settings on which you made it work. Horizontal Resolution, Vertical Resolution, Display Controller, X/Y Resolution, Y Resolution, or any other settings that needs to be changed. Kindly share if possible.

currently for 2k mono screens i didnt need to select any other option in nanodlp settings. Only the resolutions I modified and board change to MONOCHROME. For 4k 5.5 mono, I am guessing I will have to change multiple settings. If you could provide a screenshot of Machine Display Engine settings, it would be a great help
for my config to work you need to set the framebuffer in the display config. try with /dev/fb0, it should work.

Just to add myself to this thread. My Duobond 4K 5.5 arrived this morning. It's going into to a Frankenstein Wanhao Duplicator 7. But, first, after reading the above (thank you deeply for the configs) I need to upgrade to a RPI4.

yes, on a rpi4 that code grants 4K on any screen I've tried, without any need of the timings. framebuffer only though
PS: I don't think you need "config_hdmi_boost" and it's probably ignored by the rpi4.

I strongly suspect that the config matters not between 4K LCD monochrome and RGB. The settings seem much the same. The only real difference between any seems to be the timings and screen size. Could save a huge amount of work if this is the case!

I had it working on a 4K BOE RGB, 4K AUO RGB and 4K BOE mono. So far they all worked out of the box without timing but only on a rpi4. On the rpi3 as far as I can tell you need timing.
