As you may know I print many items unsupported directly on the print bed.
Often these models may still need support....
I would like a feature that would not try to support the part of the model on the be bed but build supports
around the base of the object angled in as needed to support overhangs.
I would add a feature that would trace a 1mm perimeter around the base of the object that would trim
any support pads that may intersect with the object away from the object base....trimming should occur to the
full height of the support base at least.
This would allow my on bed objects to be supported where needed and not have to float them to get support.
The object would also not need to be trimmed and refinished around the base to remove support pads.
This trimming should really occur for any object where the support base comes in contact and is not a feature
I have seen on other support generators...they may try to avoid the object or fail to add support and I think they
just want to assume the object is floated but this 'trim' idea seems like it could be very helpful for people that
print on or near the bed surface.
Thanks for the work on nanoSupport...
