Schematic and firmware ARDUINO+RPI3

Hi everyone,

After differents problems with z-axis using only RPI3 (the motorstepper loses steps, it does noise and goes irregulary), we decided to use an arduino too.

Does anybody have a schematic for the wiring connection? And which firmware are you using succesfully?

Thank you in advance !!!

This is a good suggestion,

I unfortunately admit that although I tried in every way (original power supply, cabling, sd card etc.), I still got crash and frezze, I suspect because of the motor driver,(pololu 8825), PRi3  is too  sensitive to minimum power surges and freezes, perhaps with an arduino that controls the engine..

all the best

Hi Shahin,

I would try to connect this driver on the RPI, it may be useful to eliminate freeze? what is your opinion?
Thank you

I have used one of these units and strongly prefer DRV8825.

If you are using same PSU for both rpi and driver, having separate PSU could solve your issues.

Re: Schematic and firmware ARDUINO+RPI3

Hi Shahin

I bought an Arduino Mega 2560 clone card, loaded the Marlin firmware, connected via USB port with Rpi, now I have to connect the stepper motor cables to the 2560, any suggestions?

Thank You

I found it , in the "pins h" there are the pin mappings, excuse the silly question, but I'm new around Arduino....
